Meet Dr. Phillips
Dr. Donald Phillips moved to Atlanta in 2018 and brought with him a wealth of clinical knowledge and a diverse background of work experiences. While serving on active duty as a Navy oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Phillips had the opportunity to perform a wide range of procedures in large clinics, naval hospitals, and even on an aircraft carrier.
Dr. Phillips was very fortunate to be stationed in the continental U.S. on both coasts and serve overseas in Hawaii and Spain. The wide array of challenges and experiences allowed Dr. Phillips to grow personally and professionally, which helps him relate to all types of patients, as well as strengthen his ability to treat many different oral surgery issues.
Dr. Phillips graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina dental school in 1999 and received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) training at the Medical College of Virginia from 1999-2003.
Dr. Phillips is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), and is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS).
Dr. Phillips has been married to his wife Susie for 22 years and they have five children ranging in age from 18 years old to one year old. In his free time, which as you can imagine is rare, Dr. Phillips enjoys travel, golf, and exercising.
Dr. Phillips is very dedicated to providing excellent care to all his patients and is excited for the opportunity to meet new patients, to help them with their concerns, and provide them with education to promote improved health.
Meet Dr. Rao
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Aarathi Rao to Donald Phillips Oral Surgery! We’re very excited to have Dr. Rao on our team. Dr. Rao is a board certified Diplomate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with training and clinical experience in the US and India. She has extensive volunteer and professional experience and a passion for providing care to improve the health of patients in the underserved and underinsured low-income communities in the US and abroad. Dr. Rao also has a background presenting at international dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery / maxillofacial surgery awards and conferences.

Our Staff
We think you will notice the difference from your initial phone call through your completed treatment. Our staff stays current on job requirements by taking advantage of continuing education offered by Dr. Phillips. The surgical assistants working in Dr. Phillips's office have successfully completed the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE) .
Cindy
Cindy has been with our practice since November 2018. Although she is new to the field of dentistry, she has proven to be a quick study and an essential part of our front office team. Cindy is always ready to help find a spot in our schedule that works best for our patients.
Sharon
Sharon has been with our office since she moved to Atlanta from Miami in 2013. She came to our office with over 10 years of experience in management and bookkeeping, and she is very knowledgeable about insurance and billing.
Perla
Perla is our lead surgical assistant and has been with our practice since 2012. She has been working in dentistry for over 20 years and welcomes the opportunity to educate our patients about their treatment. Perla received her newest DAANCE certificate in 2018.
Kristin
Kristin is our practice manager and has been with the office since 2003. She has also worked as a general dental assistant, surgical assistant, and in the front office in her 23 years in dentistry.
